Back from the dead!

Wowza it's been a while!
A lot has happened since my last post. Probably too much to mention in this one tiny window alone so I'll just say that I've been working most of that time away at Reactor Zero, a company down in Saline Michigan. Unfortunately all good things must come to an end, which is a bit scary since those student loans are starting to crawl out of the woodwork. On the bright side this gives me much more time to work on artwork and apply to other companies!

I've been keeping busy with my own projects outside of work, but never managed to get the time to finish many of them, so I'll be posting some of the stuff I've been doing soon enough.

Quick Sculpts

My teacher started up a forum called 'Monday Night Mesh' where we do weekly sculpting exercises. It's been a great motivator, and good source of practice. Here's one of sculpts I've done for it.

Game Engine Renders

Some renders of a character bust I did using Maya and Zbrush. The renders were done in Marmoset Toolbag. So this would be what the character looks like running in an actual game.

Sketching Sketching Sketching

Was doing some work while listening to "The Young Dubliners" and had the urge to start drawing a lot of fun characters.

Some silhouettes done with marker. There's no real direction for character here, though I seemed to have an oriental theme going.

Started sketching some dragon heads while I was out one night and these ones caught my eye so I've made a sculpt of them in Zbrush.

Had some fun with a few speed paintings today. Trying to get this stuff out of my system before I have to hunker down on the next semester of school. It's going to be an adventure finding a programmer for my senior project, but at the very least I can create some awesome assets that are worth showing off. Up here we've got a good and evil character study. You can thank Ozzy and my mp3 player for the guy on the right. This one at the bottom was a request, but also just for fun!

Soul Food

It's been a while since I've painted something wicked looking. Did this one for fun and my own satisfaction! :)
